The Sked stretcher is the original and still the best solution for confined space, high angle rescue, technical rescue, and traditional land applications. This revolutionary design provides excellent patient protection and security. Skedco now introduces the Skedco/COBRA® side-release buckles, made in Austria, that are dependable and strong enough to safely secure a patient in a Sked® stretcher with no danger of failure. These buckles are rated at 3,000 lbs., durable, and simple to use. They are difficult to release under tension, making accidental release virtually impossible.
These buckles eliminate the need to thread the webbing through the original steel buckles when securing a patient, which often cuts packaging time in half compared to using the original steel buckles. Once the patient is packaged, the stretcher becomes rigid, and its durable plastic provides protection and allows extrication in the most challenging confined spaces. The stretcher rolls into a tough cordura backpack for storage (not included with SK-201-OR and SK-201C-OR). Made from a special plastic formula, the stretcher is both flexible and durable. Attachment straps with steel buckles are sewn to the stretcher through brass grommets, adding to its strength and durability.
